Pillars of Support

In a majority Non-Muslim state, a non-Muslim organization, I have lived for what seems like a long time. It feels unsafe, I feel vulnerable and watched. Being on the right path makes you a target for hate and jealousy. Of course not everyone is like that, but majority don’t want to be near you and will take every opportunity to tell you that it’s not good to be who you are; a MUSLIM. This is my experience living where I currently am. My fellow Muslims are afraid to support each other, they are like the non-Muslims right hand people, never going against them even once, rather supporting them as if they were one with them in religion and culture.

This is because we lack faith, and don’t fully trust Allah. We do not even try to learn how Powerful Allah is! We do not need to be the non-Muslim’s  henchmen. But we lack knowledge. Consequently  we have become weak, so weak that we  are afraid to support each other.

Allah says in the Quran,

“The believers are but brothers, so make reconciliation between your brothers and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.” (Surat Al-Hujurat 49:10)

We will become weaker then everyone will stomp upon us like we were flies, because of our disunity. We should all remember what Allah tells us about being united in the Quran,

“Hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. Remember the favor of Allah upon you, when you were enemies and he brought your hearts together and you became brothers by his favor.” (Surah Ali Imran 03:103)

Also Shaykh ul Islam Ibn abdul Wahhab said in his book, Usool Al Sitta said,

“Allah has commanded unity (al-ijtimaa’) in the religion and has prohibited separation (at-tafarruq) therein. So Allah has explained this clearly and sufficiently, (in a manner) that the common people can understand. And He forbade us to be like those who split and differed (among themselves) before us and were destroyed (by this).”

Therefore, if we continue living like this, like cowards never standing up for each other then our Ummah is sure to be doomed.

We Muslims are supposed to help each other, support each other in times of distress even if we sense something is wrong with our Muslim brother, advise him, support him. Sadly, now even when we see clearly that he is on the verge of breaking down, we turn a blind eye. May Allah forgive us, and rectify our condition.

Abu Musa reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying, “A believer is like a brick for another believer, the one supporting the other.” (Muslim)

Remember my brothers and sisters that if you don’t help your brother out, no one will stand beside you when you are in need, so think twice, no thrice before turning a blind eye to your brother or sister in distress, don’t let the non-Muslims belittle your brother and sister, always stand on the Haqq and surely falsehood will perish. We are one ummah!

United we stand, divided we fall.
