It was quite perplexing, I simply couldn’t believe my eyes, recoiling from the shock, I tried to organize my thoughts and comprehend what I had just seen in the documentary. The gravity of the situation and the sad reality made me shudder with disgust and revulsion followed by cascading emotions of sadness and gloom.
For the sake of clarification and lest my dear readers get lost in my memory maze, let me recount from the beginning.
It all began with a conversation I had with an Egyptian friend of mine in which she had been recounting an anime she had watched, which had left her quite confused. It was specifically the interaction between the 2 main protagonists that had left her bewildered, as it just didn’t seem right. As she related to me, it was only in her later ages that she had been able to unlock the reasons for her bafflement as she had by then realized that the main protagonist whom she had been considering a female the whole time owing to the artistic drawing of the anime sketch artist had in fact actually been a male and had been in a tender relationship with another male.
I looked at her with despondence as the sad reality of today’s world slapped me across my face.
To further my repugnance I then came across a documentary about these transgender communities, and how “liberating” it was to finally be able to choose one’s desired sex and how a father had successfully given birth and was happily living with his male wife and all sorts of ludicrous nonsense
Another documentary repelled me to the core as they highlighted men transmuting into women and then earning money by delving into illicit and immoral acts.
Now, Oh please, don’t get me wrong, I am by no means belittling those who are genetically born with bisexual characteristics such as those suffering from Klinifelters’ syndrome or Mosaic Turner syndrome, Adrenogenital Syndrome etc., may Allah reward them for their patience.
But yes, I definitely am quite disgruntled when it comes to those who have been blessed with a normal psyche and body and yet transmogrify their perfect selves into the opposite gender, Helas! They actually undergo SRS (Sex Reassignment Surgery) which is a surgical procedure (or procedures) by which a person’s physical appearance and function of their existing sexual characteristics are altered to resemble that socially associated with their chosen identified gender.
Although gender switch-over is the most aggressive form of imitating the opposite gender, we cannot just brush off those who also imitate the opposite gender albeit in a lighter shade of tomfoolery
Take a peek and notice the teenagers of our times, gushing, giggling and swooning when they see a rapper or a vocalist with all their dangling hoops, gold bracelets and effeminately long pony tails. Ooh La La, how jazz, how cool they look, truly with their lipsticked lips and mascaraed eyes, one perhaps couldn’t envision a more masculine and handsome figure!!! Here are our esteemed actors and cherished singers bedecked in make -up and yet molded into icons and idols for our younger generations!!
On the flip side of the coin, we also have those who try to mimic their male counterparts with boyish haircuts, masculine shirts and jeans, inculcating machismo in themselves. Trying to emulate men in the way they talk, walk and behave, proudly titling themselves as tomboys.
Therefore, correcting this eccentric behavior mandates the quoting of the Shariah law:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Allah has cursed the women who imitate the men and the men who imitate the women.”
[Musnad Imam Ahmad, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan at-Tirmidhi and it is Authentic]
There is a term for people like this in Shariah. Such people are called Mu-khanna-thoun as the Messenger (ﷺ) said about them: “Allah has cursed the Mukhannathoun from amongst the men.”
[Related by Imam Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad and Sunan At-Tirmidhi and it is an authentic Hadith]
Furthermore, Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Three (types of people) will not enter Paradise and Allah will not look at them on the Day of Judgment:
the one who is undutiful to his parents, the woman who imitates men and the Dayyooth (a man who approves of indecency among his womenfolk).”
Dear readers, kindly do take note of the aforementioned ahadith and don’t just skim past them.
The above-mentioned ahadith issues a very severe warning that cannot be taken lightly
Can you imagine being cursed by Allah, can you tell me of a fate more bitter than to be cursed by Our Creator, what can avail us if we don’t have the mercy of Ar- Rahmaan with us?!
Allah wont even look at those people on the Day of Judgement and dreams of being in paradise will persist to remain only dreams!!
Remember, The Muslim woman who is proud of her Islamic identity does not imitate men at all, because she knows that for a woman to imitate men, or a man to imitate women, is forbidden by Islam.
The wisdom and eternal law of Allah dictate that men have a character distinct from that of women, and vice versa. This distinction is essential for both sexes, because each of them has its own unique role to play in life.
Lest we have already sinned, its never too late to repent and change for the better, if before we thought piercing our ears like females as cool, then now is the time to rid ourselves of this stupendous fallacy, if before we flaunted having boy cut hair or wearing masculine attire made us feel superior than now is the time to trash these ridiculous notions.
Remember to always be proud of your identity.
May Allah forgive us and guide us to the right path.
